    This puzzle's a good reminder that being crass doesn't mean being crude; I rather liked 4A and 2D, and wow, 5A is an exercise in verbosity L+U(R)+K+S. Nicely done. Is SOPHIE a specific thing I should know? (I'm musically illiterate.)

      Thanks! Sometimes, (5)s beg to be verbose :) SOPHIE was an incredible, pioneering trans musician of the 2010s, a founder of "hyperpop" that anticipated/inspired a lot of young music today. She sadly died in an accidental fall in 2021 😥
