Cool puzzle!

I loved the cluing and the idea of cryptic metas! I must confess I hit reveal on the grid - I solved enough of it to figure out the meta answer, but was stumped on 24across. (I back-solved it once I saw what the letters were - doh! )

Never do cryptics -- had to do 9 reveals, and a bunch of checks to make sure I didn't stray too far. But half-way through I was getting into the swing of things -- even came up with Smokey Joe's on my own! And no one mentioned Rebuses!

I agree with others about the cluing (though I'm still not sure how HAW works). I saw the show years ago at Circle in the Square but had to Google the answer. Then when I saw the title, I remembered it.
