    A little 5D trivia: There was an outbreak of diptheria among the town's children in the winter of 1924–1925; having run out of antitoxin, and the port being icebound during the winter, a couple of teams of sled dogs braved blizzard conditions and traveled almost seven hundred miles in six days to end the outbreak! There are some movies about Balto and Togo, the lead sled dogs.
