  Lovely! The constructions for 1D and 4A are great. The "drinking" anagrind checks out for me! My brain saw it as an alternative to "drunk," which we see fairly often

  I loved 3D! As to the discussion below on "drinking" in 1A—my preference is "drunk," which more directly indicates a muddling of the letters. "Drinking," even with a question mark, doesn't necessarily mean getting addled.
