REGULARLY, OCCASIONALLY, NOW AND THEN, JUST ODD, ODDLY, EVENLY etc. often clue that you have to disregard either all the even letters or all the odd letters. e.g. "It's just odd Steven's friend gets angry (4, 3)" = StEvEnS fRiEnD = SEES RED = "gets angry"

Thank you, Will. Yes! I think cryptics are actually easier than allegedly "quick" crosswords, once you know the codewords for the different types of clues. (I'm rubbish at "quick" crosswords).
