Now and Then Cryptic 1

· By Melanie Branton · Published 2025-01-27T08:52:09.012Z

Constructor's Note
REGULARLY, OCCASIONALLY, NOW AND THEN, JUST ODD, ODDLY, EVENLY etc. often clue that you have to disregard either all the even letters or all the odd letters. e.g. "It's just odd Steven's friend gets angry (4, 3)" = StEvEnS fRiEnD = SEES RED = "gets angry"

Great job again Melanie, funny how quickly you can do cryptics if you know the exact clue type before you read it!

Thank you, Will. Yes! I think cryptics are actually easier than allegedly "quick" crosswords, once you know the codewords for the different types of clues. (I'm rubbish at "quick" crosswords).

Exactly what Will M said — thanks so much for the ongoing solving course! (I'm impressed that you're able to clue every entry with the same type.)
