Cryptic Practice | A Numbers Game

Numbers! They can show up in all sorts of forms, commonly as words (four), arabic numerals (4) or roman numerals (IV). Naturally they are perfect ways of hinting at certain letters or combinations, which is what this puzzle hopes to showcase! Once again, certain clues may seem a little obvious, but I've included a couple fakeouts for fun :>. (edit: changed a clue that I eventually deemed to be a little insensitive -- sorry!)
