  Very fun, with some clever red herrings! I especially liked 4A and 3D, although "envelopes" would have fit the surface of 3D better. Was the verb spelling intentional misdirection?

  I'm not certain about the wordplay parse for 5A. Is "yeas" "you like"?

    Thanks! 3d is just the wrong word. I'm a horrendous speller. My brain probably just said "I'm sure that's the right one!" 5a: you=ye; like=as; and start of tasting
