This is maybe the hardest 5x5 mini I've ever completed. I don't know if the issue was with me or if some of the cluing could potentially be a little more generous to the solver, but at this point I'm simply grateful that I made it through. Wow!
This is exactly the comment I was hoping to receive. It's intentionally very difficult, with a combination of "aha" moments and trivia that's solvable with a few letters. I suspect future iterations of Egg Minis will be a decent bit less obtuse or at least have a few more gimmes to get the wheels greased. Thanks for solving!

Btw, are you a fan of the '70s Canterbury scene of bands (one of whom are called Egg!) or is that just a happy coincidence? Because I'd liken the obtuse and challenging nature of this grid to some of that music.
