      Very clever stuff, thanks! I thought 2D was particularly clean. Mete is new to me. Would love a parse of 15D, no idea which Gene the second half is referring to and google doesn’t seem to help.

        Thanks for solving! GENE is some sneaky wordplay: "lamp-dweller" gives GENIE, with "blind" indicating removal of the I :)

          Thanks! I have mixed feelings about that ‘blind’ device, but it is certainly very clever and I’m sure I’d have felt like a genius had a spotted it!
