I'd love the explanations for 1 and 2 down! I wasn't sure how the "bomb dropped" part and the "banana costume" fit in. Tug in the tub really threw me off, but once I revealed the o in "toy" I understood it - great red herring for those with their minds in the gutter! :)

For 2D, the first word in the clue is “First” which is a word play indicator directing solvers to look to the first letters of words. Here, the first letters of the words immediately following “First” spell out TOY BOAT.
