    Initially, I looked for all 35A35AHonor bestowed to six "outstanding" answers according to the years mentioned[-----------] films with one-word titles. Some of them and black blocks were put in the grid, then the possible fill came right up and struck me (not slapped): 30D30DRock's outstanding hit performer in 2022? (Gosh, please don't overshadow my puzzle!)[-----] crossing the middle of 35A35AHonor bestowed to six "outstanding" answers according to the years mentioned[-----------] in the middle of the grid! It does symbolize the real disaster last year. CODA should have been more outstanding smasher but, well, someone instead just apparently made a bigger hit! Enough with puns now. Hope you like the clues!
