Constructor's Note
My first full cryptic here. Perhaps I tried too hard with the surfaces!
Setting Highlights:
1A/11A: I’ve had this one in my clue bank for a while so I’m glad to finally use it. 29A: The best surface I’ve come up with so far. 1D: Another one in the clue bank that I reworked slightly here. 5D: So misleading! Definition here is found in OED but not Chambers for some reason.
Setting Lowlights:
26A: This took forever to get a half-reasonable surface, I’m not sure why to be honest. 27A: Still not happy with the surface here. 7D: A very awkward word and a very awkward clue, sorry. 17D: Not sure if the wordplay is quite clear enough here. 18D: I’m sure I could come up with a better clue for this but I honestly can’t be bothered.
