This can be entirely solved via deductive logic. Each row, column, and barred off region must contain exactly one Q and one K. In each region, the K & Q must be adjacent (including diagonally). Each Q can not be adjacent to another Q (including diagonally), the same rule applying to each K. No Q appears in a circled space. Use the letter X to mark cells that cannot contain a Q or a K.

Really fun, I got completely stuck until I found logic to put an 'X' on the '17' cell, then it all fell apart for me
