  7A Another clue featuring obscure American musical performers with ridiculous names that elderly Brits find impossible to solve! To be a fair clue, shouldn't it be "3000" rather than "three thousand"?

    I think 5A is an oblique dd. An open-source programmer might contribute to a "repo", or repository; the question mark allows them to be a "repo man".

  I didn't break this thing down for nothing! I liked 1D especially.

  Small typo: I think 6A should be (2, 1, 4). I also agree that 2D is rough because the lit is woven into the definition; I'm not experienced enough in cryptics to know whether this is a personal preference of mine.

  Wow, wayyyy too clever for my puny brain... at least I didn't panic and got through it somehow... I got a kick out of 3d... most of the other parses were way above my $0 pay grade... thanks as ever for the lessons, ill keep trying in my futile way to keep up
