      A bit tricky, took me a couple of extra passes through to get it all. Mostly because I kept not seeing the black squares! I tried to make 5 letter answers when they should have been 3 letters only.

          3D: I guess the indirect anagram is easy enough for the clue to be tolerable. 7A: I'm not sure how you got rid of the "u" as well?
