I’m pretty sure “G at row 5, column 1; O at row 3, column 5” also does not violate any of the rules as given…

6A restricts O to either the last row or last column but not the corner.

O at row 3 column 5 isn't in the corner, it's in the middle of the last column.

I suppose you are right. I missed that.

                  Still a very fun puzzle!
          1A
The BIN: B, I, and N are diagonally adjacent forming a V-shape together (not necessarily in order)
          1
          2
          3
          4
          5
          6
          7
          8
          9
          Across
          1. 1A
The BIN: B, I, and N are diagonally adjacent forming a V-shape together (not necessarily in order)
          2. 6A
Start and end: B is either in the first row or first column. O is in either the last row or last column.
          3. 7A
            We're on IN 5: Either I or N Is in column 5.
          4. 8A
G force: G is forced to be alone. No other letter shares its row or column.
          5. 9A
GO away: G and O are more than one row and one column apart.
          Down
          1. 1D
NO 'NO': O does not appear after N in its row or below N in its column.
          2. 2D
That's me in the corner: I is in a corner (in the spotlight, losing its religion)
          3. 3D
This puzzle is solvable without hints. Hint 1: "either _ or _" means one OR the other exclusively (not both). Reread the clues and see if the exclusive 'or' constrains something.
          4. 4D
Hint 2: the BIN, That's me in the corner, and We're on in 5 together place the B
          5. 5D
Hint 3: mark down all the places G and O could possibly be. Remember GO away and G force clues.
