  Didn't like 14A wordplay; if "cycling" is an anagrind, where is the word to be "cycled" to get WELLS?

    Cycling means take a letter from the start and place it at the end or vice-versa. A word for expand is SWELL - cycle the S to the end to get WELLS

  Thank you for your reply; I have never seen "cycling" used in that way. I have always regarded it as an anagrind. Can you point to a link that will explain?

    It is not as common as an anagram and I definately understand that it's a little indirect for a crossword aimed at beginners so maybe I'll change the clue. Thanks so much for the feedback
