    Reveal: There are several types of “fingers” in the grid- 2D crosses 16A, 5D crosses 11A, 18D crosses 24A, 26D crosses 31A hence the answer to the meta: Fingers Crossed. I was excited because the letters where the words meet spell TILI, which is Kurdish for finger! Then I realized 11D is a type of finger and crosses both 11A and 16A. I double-crossed myself!
