As setters we may not always be proud of where we put our commas, but this setter can be proud to have delivered a new crop of entertaining surfaces, arranged in such a way as to intersect, and at the end of the day, isn't the the true meaning of crosswords?

thanks for the puzzle... hope one day theyll be nice and easy for a dumdum like me, but today is not that day it seems
Thanks for a very entertaining cryptic with pleasing surfaces. I liked 5A very much and thought the clever use of "official" as an adjective in 4D was superbly misleading; I don't think the "?" was necessary.
I have only two worries: 1D "love you" to trigger LY; these aren't standard abbreviations so you needed a "first letter" indicator. Again, perhaps the "?" is unnecessary. 1A I would have expected "apparently" to indicate that ACETONE was to be read as ACE and TONE.These comments are not intended as criticism.
Always love your puzzles, but this one is a beaut! The surfaces are clever but clean (1A, for example) - keep them coming :) Agree with Pedagogue on 1D, might need an extra word to indicate letter selection but it didn't get in the way of solving it!
