I like the idea (the same word written twice with slight difference), but these are just words put together. I do get that each word in the clue corresponds to each word in the answer, but some of them just don't make sense. CLOSEPROXIMITY, SAFEHAVEN, and BRIEFMOMENT are good, but the others don't work. PASTHISTORY isn't a term, the END in ENDRESULT does not correspond to "Concluding," and the ADVANCE in ADVANCEWARNING doesn't correspond to "Cautious." It works half of the time, but the lesser theme answers really ruin it for me. Good puzzle though, I'm not trying to discourage you. Filling and cluing an entire crossword does take a lot of effort (especially at the rate you do it), so keep that up, you are a very good constructor. Thanks for reading this mess.
I appreciate the feedback. The theme was more so tautologies - idioms/phrases with synonymously redundant words. I tried to communicate that redundancy in the cluing, but I'll admit the wording isn't perfect. And from what I've seen, past history is an expression that's been used.
