Meta Prompt
What did the player score for this hole?
Thanks for playing! I've never done a meta before, I really hope the concept of this one came across well. Feedback is appreciated!

Just amazing, unique clueing all around - and such a fun use of the theme! I especially got tangled in the center part of the field with 23D 24D 25D. 10/10 loved it

OH i didn't realize the title had par haha, was so confused why "four" didn't work
      • Tyger constructor · 2024-04-14T16:07:18.110Z
Darn!! I really did consider adding 4/four as possible solutions too. Thank you for playing though!

Well-played, Tyger! (Gee, where have I heard that before? 😄) I liked your use of vertical symmetry.

          Hahaha, thank you!

I don't understand. You said don't count the first X. And you said par is three. So I figure the player made it in three shots. Which is par? isn't it?
(Also don't understand the text "K DONT" but I'm not worried about it.

Argh..... You know. These types of puzzle there is always and square that is right under my nose and just never see. The FELIX/XII I just kept not seeing that X and only counted the other 3 X's. I counted at least seven times and every single time I got 3 x's (eXasperated, acorningtaX, and epoXy... and ignore the one in X-mark. I swear seven times I counted ant those were all the Xes I found.)

Thank you! Liked the idea and the meta mechanism (assuming I understood it correctly that there were four Xs so that meant four "strokes" and thus BOGEY), but I have to be honest — some of the fill had me quite 28A. In my opinion (and mainly because this is something I have had to work on and still do) the fill needed some more revision. Some entries were obscure (for me, ISNER and EROTEMA were examples) while others were really just made up (TMAIL probably the biggest offender; ACORNINGTAX was somewhat redeemed by the clever cluing). That said, 10A was brilliant. I am glad many others enjoyed it more!

Thanks a ton for the kind words and constructive feedback! I can't deny that made a few stretches to shape the board to include everything I desired, and I agree with you on the problematic filling and clues. Better construction is something I want to improve at, so I'll make sure my grids are less frustrating in my future puzzles.
